Delta Gamma

Alpha Pi Chapter at University of Arizona

Philanthropy Events

Service for Sight has been at the heart of Delta Gamma’s philanthropic mission since 1936. The Delta Gamma Foundation has given over $6,299,849 in Service for Sight grants to organizations and schools that share the Foundation’s mission: to promote sight preservation and assistance to children and adults who are blind or visually impaired.

Each year, the Alpha Pi Chapter of Delta Gamma Sorority at the University of Arizona organizes and hosts a philanthropic event to support our local and national philanthropies: Anchor Splash®. This event has become an anticipated tradition for the Greek Community at UofA. Both Panhellenic and Infraternal Council as well as other organizations on campus compete in a week-long philanthropy fundraiser consisting of three main events: a dance competition, food fundraiser, and a talent show. The Arizona School for Deaf and Blind and The Tucson Society for the Blind are a few of the causes that Delta Gamma supports through the donations made to our Foundation. Our chapter always strives to meet and exceed the amount of money we have raised in years past.

Being only our second year proposing a Spring fundraising event, Alpha Pi wants to make Spring Splash an encouraging tradition. This fundraising event not only supports our philanthropy, Service for Sight, but also brings awareness of the Foundation’s mission to the University of Arizona. This year the Alpha Pi Chapter raised $10,701 and we look forward to next year in light of exceeding our previous goal.
