Service for Sight has been at the heart of Delta Gamma’s philanthropic mission since 1936. The Delta Gamma Foundation has given over $2,800,000 in Service for Sight grants to organizations and schools that share the Foundation’s mission: to promote sight preservation and assistance to children and adults who are blind or visually impaired.
Each year, the Alpha Pi Chapter of Delta Gamma Sorority at the University of Arizona organizes and hosts a philanthropic event to support our local and national philanthropies. This event has become an anticipated tradition for the Greek System at UofA. Besides being one of the premier athletic events for all organizations on campus, “AnchorSplash” allows the women of Delta Gamma to raise funds for some amazing organizations. Gentlemen from Fraternities and other organizations on campus all compete in our week-long philanthropy consisting of three main events: Anchor Man, Dominos with DG, and a synchronized swimming competition. Last year, our chapter raised around $30,000 during AnchorSplash. The money raised was donated to organizations that support people all over the nation with visually impaired disabilities. The Arizona School for Deaf and Blind and The Tucson Society for the Blind are just a few of the causes that our sorority supports through donations made to the Delta Gamma Foundation. Our chapter always strives to meet and exceed the amount of money we have raised in years past.
